Formed by composer Mark Jansen after leaving After Forever back in 2002, Epica quickly gained attention outside their home country, taking big steps towards becoming the leading symphonic metal superpower they have long proven to be. The band joins the third edition of Midalidare Rock In The Wine Valley. They will play on the 2nd of July (Sunday), when headliners for the day are the German legends Helloween.

The lead singer of Epica is Simone Simons, she joined the band at the age of seventeen, releasing eight studio albums and touring the world. She also has a side pursuit as a lifestyle blogger, via her website SmoonStyle. It has over 9 milions views and it is first beauty blog created by a singer from a metal band.
"With Epica we continue with our line up, and offering a variety of music for the fans. In the upcoming days, we will also announce our third headliner, that will play on the 1st of July (Saturday), said the organizers.
